Evans G2 Coated Snare Reviews 5

I'm a drummer. I'm originally from Brazil. I play in a band called Glint.

I'm sure you had heard that your snare drum is the drummer signature to the music. I have tried various different types of snare drumheads and the Evans G2 Coated has been my number one choice because of its versatility to fit with almost any style and at the same time, being able to achieve the so desirable signature snare sound. It is probably one, if not the most known and used snare head from Evans drumheads. It gives a nice, big and lively attack with long sustain and depth. You will find this drumhead in the market from $15 to $20.

I love how crisp yet powerful sound I can get from this skin. It also give a lot of definition when playing intricate snares arrangements.

Sometimes you will find useful to have some damping material (such as Moon Gel), since this head can give you a very open and powerful snare sound with some undesirable overtones. For a more focused attack I would recommend Evans' skins with a center dot.

This coated skin consists of two-ply heads of 7mil each making it durable and giving a consistent sound.

If you are looking for a fat open snare sound yet with a lot of definition, this a way to go.
